I'm running the absolute latest version of Big Sur (11.6) and have Screen Savers/Energy Saver monitor/sleep settings completely turned off. Following this, choose the System Preferences option. By that point, the VNC session starts to work again but this is basically an untenable solution. ![]() Unfortunately though, typing the password and pressing "enter" only returns me to the screensaver and I'm unable to proceed without plugging a monitor into the Mac Mini and futzing around. When this happens, I am unable to exit out of it via VNC except for the rare occasion where I can press Ctrl + Cmd + Esc to force a lock screen, which allows me to enter my password. ![]() Pressing the shortcut will instantly fade to black both the built-in display and any external screens connected to this Mac and shut off their backlighting. It works great until about 5-15 minutes pass by and suddenly the screen saver turns on even if I'm actively using the system. At any time, press Shift + Control + Eject, or Shift + Control + Power on newer Mac models. I have it plugged in headless and VNC into it as my primary means of accessing the desktop.
